My Birthday Boy

On December 16th my amazing fiancé was born & I couldn't be more grateful for his life!
For his birthday I decided to completely spoil him by driving him to Atlanta, buying him dinner & buying him a few gifts. It was such an amazing night getting to do all these things for him & just seeing the smile on his face was priceless.
I started our day by picking him up & giving him his gift one being some new Adidas he really wanted. Then we went to eat dinner at Barcelona which was great although I do recommend making reservations.
The night was perfect & hearing from him that it had been the best birthday he'd ever had really made my day.

Never in a million years did I think I'd find someone so utterly perfect, someone who would make me happier then I ever dreamed I could be, someone that would touch my life so profoundly. But then God placed you in my life & I realized that everything I anticipated you to be doesn't even compare to who you are.
Happy Birthday Honey, so blessed & thankful for your life today. I love you so much!

Date Night | Chicago Bulls vs Atlanta Hawks

I am a pretty big fan of the Bulls since I was born in Chicago so when they come into town my fiancé likes taking me out to see them.
I love getting these little date nights with my fiancé once in a while because right now we are on saving mode due to our wedding & home renovations in only 3 months!!!
(I couldn't be more excited & happy for all the coming events!)
So right after my fiancé got out of work he met me at Outback Steakhouse because we were celebrating my brother's 22nd birthday.
| Side Note: I cannot believe he is already 22!! He is only a year younger then me but I have always seen him as much younger but he really isn't. He's grown up to be an amazing man! But for me he will always be my little brother : ) |
Okay so I got some food to go so my fiancé could eat on the way to the game & then we were on the road headed to Atlanta.
The game was close but unfortunately they lost. Lately the bulls have been doing great but I must say the hawks are having a great season as well.
After the game we decided to go have a late night snack at one our favorite spots called Cafe Intermezzo. This is the spot where we had our first date & it always brings back great memories.
After our coffee & dessert we handed home. It's so cute how when we pass the exist of our home, my fiancé always says look we would be getting home right now. It always puts a smile on my face lol.
Another amazing night with an amazing man.

Deciding on my bridesmaids was probably the easiest, these are all girls who I have a strong connection with & girls who have been there for me through high & low. I feel so happy & honored that they all get to be a part of such a special day for my fiancé & I.

Labels & String: Target | Color Swatches: Home Depot | Boxes, Filler & Ribbon: Michaels

God is Good

This thanksgiving was extra special because not only was I spending it with my family but with my fiancé & his family as well. It was just so nice to see the merging of families & everything turning out great!
Everyone cooks in my family so at dinner we have a little of everything & it's always so delicious! I decided to make ham this time since last Christmas it was such a hit. It just takes a lot of time & patience lol. Also I made dark chocolate coconut bites with sea salt sprinkled on top (first time making it) they turned out great! They kinda taste like the salted caramel hot chocolate from Starbucks if you've ever had it. Mmmmm.... they were good!
To summarize my thanksgiving, it was an amazing time with people I love, endless laughter, & great food!
You know sometimes I look at my surroundings like that night & I think wow I am blessed! I say that not because I have a perfect life (because trust me I don't) but because despite the lose of loved ones in my life, despite family issues, despite everything I worry about in my head daily, I am just in awe when I sit there among people I love & who love me, for one night & see happiness..... nothing but happiness. Everyone sets aside what they have going on in their life & come together to have an amazing time.
That made me realize something, no matter what we go through God is always good.
Yes I have gone through hard times, yes I stress time to time, & yes things are not always how I want them to be. But God is there to give me strength in those hard times, God is there to tell me don't worry just trust me, & God is there to show me His ways are far better then mine.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
So thankful for everyone & everything God has placed in my life.
God is Good Always.

|Black Friday|
We decided to opt out for going out Thursday night to spend as much time as possible with family. But we did end up going out after work on Friday in which was nice because there wasn't to many people & the deals were still there. It was very cold though & lets just say Saturday I woke up wishing I had bundled up more the night before lol. But I am feeling much better now :)

Home Is Where The Heart Is

Yesterday we had lots of errands to run & one of them was Ikea (the greatest place for homeowners in my opinion). The reason why I love Ikea is because they have all the latest home furnishing trends at affordable prices. Who doesn't love more for their money lol.
Let's just say I fell in love with everything, I cannot wait to get everything in the house & start decorating! My style I think would be contemporary cozy if that exist lol, I just love the feeling of going into a house & it feeling cozy but also looking very classic & sleek. I just can't wait to make the house feel like our home.
We had lunch before going to Ikea at a new spot called The Sweet Auburn Market which was awesome because they have so many different food vendors from bbq, meat pies, seafood, ect. They also had a fresh market with fish, different meats, & veggies. I loved the busy atmosphere & the diversity.
After finishing everything we had to do we headed to Atlantic Station to have coffee. I love how they have the whole place covered in Christmas decor already. Lol it seems so many people are getting into the Christmas spirit early this year & I love it! :)

Saturday Night Lights

This previous Saturday we decide to visit the lights at Lake Lanier with family, if you haven't been it's a car ride through roads decorated in lights & at the end there is a village with more activities.
The last time I had been here was a good 6-7 years ago & boy had it changed!
First I had remembered a lot more lights & a lengthier ride through them. Second the village changed location & it seems less traditional.
I don't know if maybe it was because I was a lot younger but it really changed a whole lot.
I remember being in the car for the longest looking at all the lights, & after getting to a cottage style house, you could buy warm food, drinks & also visit Santa's workshop.
The workshop had everything from trees set up to ornaments to also things for the house & toys. Also you could meet santa there & take pictures.
Outside they would have two fire pits for marshmallow roasting & a carnival.
Some things I actually enjoyed about this year's set up was the free tubing/sledding they had & the bon fire on the lake's shore. Another thing that was okay was the free ice skating (warning though: it isn't real ice so that was a bummer lol) but it was nice for the kids.
Overall it was nice & I enjoyed myself because I was around those I love!
