Christmas Tree Shopping & Holiday Decor | 2019

I never thought we would ever buy a real tree knowing how much of a clean freak I am lol and thats being honest. Something changed one day when I saw a little family cutting down a tree and how much fun they looked like they were having. I told George one day when we have a baby I want to start that tradition with them and he agreed. So then we had Jayleen and I think we just wanted to wait until she was old enough to understand so we waited and this year it just felt right.
After church on Sunday we decided to go because I have been researching on how to take care of one and when was the best time to buy and every website said mid Nov if you are buying a pre-cut one because thats when they come in fresh and you get the best choice.
We told Jayleen that morning and that's all she would talk about is her Christmas tree haha. We went to two farms first and they were just overpriced in my opinion. So we ended up at our local Home Depot and as soon as we walked into the aisle that had the price point we were looking for we saw a pretty tall tree and I honestly think they had priced it wrong because it was at least a 6-7 foot tree! We quickly grabbed it and went to pay and even when we were paying we thought it would ring up $54+tax but no it rang up to a total of $42! We left so happy and this will definitely be our spot for our tree every year!
I also wanted to change out our decor this year because we were getting a real tree and also because I wanted for Jayleen to be able to choose any ornament she wanted without worrying about sticking to a color scheme. So we went with a very minimal look and touches of gold here and there. I loved the way it turned out!

Hope you enjoyed this little holiday decor post.

Christmas Photos | 2019

It's that time of the year where we take our yearly photos to send our Christmas cards and I love doing it around this time because the weather is perfect for it. Also because a local tree farm opens and it makes for an amazing backdrop! Last year we took them ourselves, we just took a tripod and took turns taking them of each other. It was actually pretty successful but my cousin who is a photographer found out and told us next time to not hesitate and ask her. We honestly just didn't want to be a bother and I know how busy she can get. But this year I took her up on that offer and asked her to take them. We went to the tree farm we go to every year and she also took us to a spot she has taken photos before. I can't believe how amazing they turned out! I have some serious talent in my family! I will make sure to link all her information below if you want to check out her work. She works so well with everyone and is so easy going and also the sweetest human alive! She also has little tricks to make little ones cooperate which is amazing to get those perfect family shots!
Thank you so much Lari! I know this is a busy time for you but we appreciate it so much that you took time out to do this for us!
